Eventful… sort of

The past week, I went through formal recruitment to rush for a sorority.
Saturday through Monday night, I was part of one, minus the initiation.
But I’m not going through with it, just because I was going to pay for it myself and it’s a little too expensive (like $1800). I decided on this Monday night and again on Tuesday morning… And on Tuesday night, I joined a pre-pharmacy club for $10. Not too sad about the sorority (they’re all really nice girls though..), and a bit excited about the club.
Moving on… Thank you to the person who dropped from the lab for Geology 107!!! Yay for being number one on the waitlist : )

Food Rant

I’m so hungry.
How does a filipino restaurant just run out of food at like 6:00 PM?? How do they not have tilapia? Or sinigang?
It’s freakin’ dinner time!

Summer School

This is the first time I’ve been in school for almost a whole year. Most people are like, wow so you pretty much don’t get a break?? But it isn’t that bad. I kind of like it, staying busy and all… Last summer I was just bumming around, and that wasn’t so fun. Sure there are times that I wish I didn’t have to do homework, or worry about the midterms that are swarming my way… but overall, summer school is alright.
Okay, I didn’t really want to blog about summer school but figured I might as well write about something else besides sharing that…
I JUST BOUGHT A NEW PAIR OF UGGS!
Yes I am that excited. I planned on buying Classic short ones in chestnut this year, but then I saw these new Mayfaire ones in sand and fell in looove. I was a little torn between the sand and the western brown, since I already have Ultras in sand. But the sand just looked so much better! If I had a ton of money though, I would get them in Western brown as well. In the end it wasn’t so hard to decide since Scott preferred the sand ones too. Anyway, I found a really good deal online, so pretty much this is what happened… I got the Uggs, a pair of Fitflops, and a care kit for my Uggs (I’m going to clean my old Ultra ones, I still love those) all for the price of the Mayfaire boots! AND I got free shipping thanks to my Mom! I love you, Victoria’s Secret!

taking a break from writing essays.

I’ve written parts of two papers that aren’t due until next week. Am I really that good of a student? I mean I’ve been working on these since last weekend and one of them isn’t even due until June 5. The answer is… no, not really. Haha. Just need to get these done so I can have fun this weekend in Santa Barbara!! Watching the boys play in this basketball tournament… purrdy exciting stuff!
Don’t have much to say, I just wanted to share this really good song… from the 80s i think?

sigh.

one of my favorites.
the way it’s positioned on my blog is ugly, but whatever.

Chef Jill : )

I cooked Nilaga (boiled beef, previously mentioned in another entry) all by myself today!
My Mum also taught me how to cook another Filipino dish–Filipino Beef Steak–over the phone a few minutes ago. I’m pretty excited, I can’t wait to attempt to make it. Haha.
I would cook more if I didn’t have OChem to worry about. It’s so much more fun!

Thank Goodness for Kool-Aid

It masked someone’s funky soap smell this morning.
I got my O.Chem test back today as well, and it brought a smile to my face. Can you believe it?
Yeah me neither!

The Post-Birthday…Post

I must say, that was a good birthday.
The midnight birthday wishes, from Scott, and of course, my Mum.
The text messages that oddly came almost at the same time in the morning, the facebook wall posts (even though for most it’s because of facebook’s birthday reminder, it’s still something for someone to take a minute and type in “happy birthday”), unexpected birthday wishes, cheese pancakes (I have Scott cooking on video!), soysauce hotdogs (Chef Scott, again), more awaited phone calls at night, and Baron Davis’ game winning shot which was, of course, his birthday present for me.
Thanks to everyone who made the day purrdy special.
And… happy birthday, Mummy! : )

Grumpy Old Women

They weren’t old. But whatever, the title looks nicer that way. I had to talk to some people—they were all women—today regarding work documents, and they all seemed like they were PMS-ing. I wanted to make like sheep and get the flock out of there. Haha. When I was finally able to do so, I held the door open for 2 separate women coming in. Not even a mumbled thank you. Buuuut, this NICE old man followed the second lady, passed through the door with a genuine smile and a thank you. He made my day : )
But yeah, the women in that department have problems.

Bobby Pins

So after 3 hours of Biology lab, I went to the bathroom to grab some paper towels to wipe my bike seat with (I hate rain!!).
I noticed that my bangs were falling so I started fixing the few bobby pins on my head. Then the girl next to me asks, “Do you have an extra bobby pin?”
I told her that I only have the two that were on my head but that I’d gladly give her one. She was so happy she kept thanking me the whole time I was there.
Well, I’m not really into borrowing bobby pins that have been on other people’s hair but that felt pretty good. : )
And lucky for her, I keep my hair clean : P
